Editors Speak
“As author of Chicken Soup for the Bride's Soul, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to publish Patty Sullivan's true love story, The Look. One of my favorite stories in the book and one that always brings a tear, Patty's descriptive and eloquent writing takes you there – to that moment in time and captures your heart. It has been a pleasure working with such a talented writer.”

Ms. Sullivan is a gifted writer with an uncanny ability to mine seemingly small, almost trivial details of life for depth and meaning. In her hands the smile of a child, the words of an ailing parent, the touch of a spouse are seen for what they really are: the magical moments that make life worth living.

Patty's stories show her thoughtful connection to the world around her. Her words and stories make us contemplate and care about things that we might ordinarily just pass by without a second glance.

In "Petty Complaints," Sullivan, when confronted with the issue of her adult children's insistance on bringing along their their pets when they come to visit, reminds me of Erma Bombeck's ability to deliver practical solutions with a laugh instead of hand wringing. After reading her, we feel a lot better about all the craziness we have to endure ourselves.

It's Time To Move On!
I received my copy of Patty Sullivan's "Letting Go with Panache" for review and was completely overwhelmed with the scope and perceptiveness of her very special two hour "counseling session".
Personally, I've had three relationships, which were all very important to me, end. The two marriages suffered a slow death so I was more prepared for their demise and rebounded easier. But I had this one long term relationship...well, it was very difficult for me to get over because the ending was totally unexpected and out of the blue. Nonetheless, I thought I had successfully moved on.
Patty accurately described everything that I had gone through but she brought up a subject which turned out to be some unfinished business for me of which I was totally unaware was an issue until that moment!!! I was floored but guess what? It sure explained alot. I had an epiphany - one of those great "a-ha" moments - and through the techniques given on the CD, I intend to make those last little erasures, which have unknowingly hindered me, from my memory bank ASAP!
Patty leaves no stone unturned. She succinctly describes all of the emotions, feelings, reasons one might hang on, and the "how to get the heck out of there" in depth. She gives steps for taking care of yourself - emotionally and financially - as well as directions on how to focus for your future through several means. She can take you from the pits of loneliness and sadness to the phoenix stage of empowerment over the course of the two CDs. Sound like I'm overpromoting? I'm not! It is an amazing piece of work! Like I said, it gave me goosebumps!!
Just to let you know, Patty speaks from a first hand experience. She has been married, divorced, and now successfully remarried. Today, she counsels couples as a relationship mediator and helps divorced couples resolve their differences so that they can interact in a more positive manner. She has seen it all and addresses every conceivable scenario in her CD. Nobody will be left out!
If you have experienced a loss (marriage or a relationship), and have even the least little suspicion that you might still be holding onto some part of the past which is preventing you from feeling joy, or, if you think you have moved on but feel directionless, I strongly urge you to purchase a copy of her CD. Think of it as only $10 per hour of professional counseling! And that's if you listen to it just once. If you're like me, there are certain parts you'll listen to over and over again until your mind flips a switch!
